Jan 2008 ;'Heaven's Gate' wins 'Peoples Choice' Award at the City of Wolverhampton Art Gallery for the most votes received from members of the visiting public. Chief Curator Head of Art, Corinne Miller, made a short speech and presented David with the award at a prize presentation ceremony on 4th January 2008.

Two paintings accepted for exhibition at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, expo runs November 10th 2007 to Jan 14th 2008. October; Still Life Artist's Drawing Bible finished for Quarto, release date world-wide spring 2008. Numerous pencil and Ink still life drawings and instruction. This is a 138 page drawing book which contains 15 demonstrations as well as a comprehensive techniques and materials section. Loads of advice and tips. There are contributions from 15 artists including David. Artists are split into pairs and given identical assignments. There is full analysis and step by step illustrations. On St Agnes Isle meet Dorothy and Maurice Barker, Islanders and farmers since 1948, (photo below of them next to the subject for Scilly Tank (see Gallery page). They were fascinated to know that a painting of their Water Tank was purchased from the May 2006 Vice solo expo and is now in the private collection of Mr & Mrs Bloxsom and hanging in a distinguished Victorian Entrance hall in Birmingham, England. This Water Tank has collected rainwater since 1948 and kept them and their animals alive. Recently mains water was finally connected to their farm house by the Duchy of Cornwall making the tank finally redundant.

Feature article on the Birmingham Watercolour Society published in Art of England magazine. Article shows 'Bolted' 18"x24". In same issue an article on High Town Art shop is illustrated with the painting 'Raised' 27"x20" 2004 'Living on a Prayer' wins major prize at the open Prize exhibition of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists 2004. The painting size 22"x38" depicts the interior of St Chads Mission , a small prayer house situated at the Blists Hill Museum of Industrial and Social heritage in Shropshire, England. The painting, in pure watercolour technique, contains 15 layers of wash using pure transparent pigments. No white paint or other body colour is used. The painting took two months to complete, but was many months in the development stage. 2004 Living on A Prayer, Sea of Change, and Iron Heart accepted for open exhibition at Ironbridge Museum. 'Ironheart' 40"x28" is a large format painting of the bell and housing of the SS Great Britain. The ship was the first Iron hulled boat built, carried troops to the Crimean war, and the England Cricket team on their first overseas trip to Australia. November 2004 'Gallopers' 24"x40" wins 'Chase de Vere Peoples Choice' prize at the 97th annual exhibition of the Birmingham Watercolour Society. 2004 elected Honorary Secretary of the Birmingham Watercolour Society. 2004 elected into the Easel Club, founded in 1879 by Walter Langley. Membership of the Easel Club is by invitation and election. It's membership is restricted to 25. 2003 'Well Oiled' wins the TNT Prize at the RBSA Open Exhibition . The painting is of an ancient Qualcast Lawnmower. 2003 elected as an Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) paintings exhibited; 'Raised', 'Well Oiled', 'Killing Time', 'Legacy', 'Nightwatch', 'Canscape' 2003 Solo Exhibition in Craft Gallery of the RBSA Exhibition entitled 'Secret Rooms'. 14 paintings exhibited. 2001 elected into the Birmingham Art Circle , founded in 1879 2001 elected a member of the Birmingham Watercolour Society, founded 1907 2000 wins 'Percy Hipkiss Award' Dudley Art Gallery DSA Exhibition. 2000 wins 'Best In Show' DSA Exhibition Brierley Hill U.K. Crystal Glass Centre 1999 Winning painting exhibited at the Mall Gallery, London 1999 wins competition in the Artist Magazine UK .
